About UAE
The United Arab Emirates is composed of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Um Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaima and Fujaira. The desert is 4 fifths of the area of the country; nevertheless, it has various natural landscapes of red high dunes in Liwa to Al Ain which is deemed as a natural oasis adorned by palm trees. The country has steep rocky mountains and fertile areas of coastal plains.
In spite of its limited area, UAE has become an important and influential country in regional and international affairs.
The seven emirates united in 1971 by virtue of the wise vision of the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God have mercy upon him). It is the only union in the Arab World.
Petroleum has been utilized for the development of the country and its economy which is one of the most successful economies globally.
In 2004, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the president of UAE and continued the process of development and prosperity envisaged by the late leader for the achievement of the vision for a wise and ambitious country.
