Headed by Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of
the University of Sharjah, UoS delegation met with Prof. Ivo Vondrák, Ruler of
Moravian-Silesian Region, in Ostrava city. The delegation included Dr. Salah
Taher, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, and Dr. Radhi Al Zubaidi,
Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between Czech universities and the
University of Sharjah. Prof Vondrák, Ruler of Moravian-Silesian Region, touched
upon the areas of cooperation in the field of innovation and creativity, and
noted the initiatives and directions of the Czech Government to support the
concept of creativity and innovation, and establishing specialized centers for
both traits. Ways of strengthening the cooperation with Czech universities were
discussed during the meeting, especially in the fields of scientific research,
and exchange of students and faculty members. The administrative systems
applied in Czech universities and administrative development, were also
mentioned in the meeting. Prof. Hamid Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University
of Sharjah, overviewed UoS' administrative system and organizational chart. He
also gave a brief summary of the most important achievements and successes of
the University of Sharjah locally and internationally.
From the Czech party, Prof. Jean Lata, Rector of Ostrava University, and Mr.
Thomas Fiddler, Director of International Relations at Governor's Office,
attended the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Hamid Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of
Sharjah, invited the Czech delegation to visit UoS to review the latest
updates. The attendees also exchanged commemorative shields.
