User Support 

              User education

              User Education Program is designed to keep faculty, students and  staff abreast of the latest information resources and enable them to search, find, retrieve, evaluate and make effective use of information resources in the changing information world.

               User Education Program consists of :

              • Library Skills Sessions that ranges from Basic to Adanced level, conducted for groups or on one-to-one basis.
                • Basic Level: To introduce the library, its collection, the online catalog, services, and staff
                • Advanced Level: To introduce electronic resources with tutorials on the use of Online Catalog, Online Databases, Electronic Journals, the Internet, The Electronic Library, Evaluation of Internet Services, Citation Rules …etc.
              • An Open Tour / orientation in the library can be provided to new students individually
              • The Reference Librarian may visit a classroom on request of faculty member and provide a customized course-related session covering information resources for specific topic.
              • Reference Librarians collaborate with instructors in helping students identify resources related to their assignment.
              • Students may schedule for a specialized instruction sessions with the reference Librarian to seek help in their research projects
              • Presentations, Iinstruction Manuals, and Tutorials are prepared on selected topics in printed and electronic formats and made available.
               

              Current Awareness service

              The library is offering the Current Awareness Service in various means, such as,

              • The Table of Contents of recently received periodicals at the library are e-mailed to the faculty according to their periodicals' selection.
              • A "New Arrivals" list includes the recently acquired books in one month, is published on the library homepage regularly.
              • Regular library updates are e-mailed to faculty and students, to promote new electronic resources and web resources and to explain procedures on how to access and search the resources
              • Video Tutorials, Brochures and User Guide outlining collection and services, are distributed on users.
