CCE discusses its achievements, future plans and developments

 

Sharjah-UOS:

The Council for the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCE) at the University of Sharjah (UOS) held a meeting in presidency of Prof. Eng. Samy A. Mahmoud, the Chancellor of UOS and Chair of the Council and in attendance of Prof. Salim Sabri, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Ismail, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Financial Affairs, Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Mr. Fareed Al Amiri, Director of Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development in addition to representatives of the University’s Colleges.

In his speech, the Chancellor emphasized that the Center performs according to the future vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and the Supreme President of the University. This vision looks forwards to the organizations’ engagement and interactions with society in various fields that lead to the society’s development and progress. He added that the University of Sharjah is place providing different experiences for all society’ levels.

Prof. Samy indicated that comprehensive universities are distinguished by providing various specializations and experiences for the society while maintaining its main values. He invited to link the scientific researches with challenges and requirements of the work environment through establishing strong relations with public and private organizations from different sectors.

Mr. Fareed Al Amiri, Director of Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development, provided a brief of the Center’s strategic plan and main objectives, in addition to previous achievements. He highlighted that the process of continuing education and community service is one of the main pillars of the University of Sharjah. It aims to communicate with society through providing various programs and activities.

Mr. Al Amiri added that the Center expanded its range of services for community aiming to knowledge transfer and providing skills in addition to supporting the national plans for orientation and nationalization. He stressed on the high quality of services provided by the Center.

The Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCE) provides many specialized certificates including CISCO programs. It aims to increase the number of activities provided by the Sharjah Institute for Translation. The Center currently studies the training requirements of all public and governmental organizations in the Eastern Area of Sharjah. It also coordinates with the Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences in order to provide training programs required by the health sector in addition to increase the consultation services that promote organizational performance.
