1617 students Admitted across Various Bachelor’s programs at UOS

 

Sharjah-UOS:

 

H. H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and the Supreme President of University of Sharjah approved the intake of the new students across various colleges at the University of Sharjah for the Fall Semester 2010-2011.

Prof. Samy A. Mahmoud, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, said that the total number of students that applied for UOS Bachelor’s programs reached 3500 students. 3285 students have met the admission requirements, while 1617 students were being admitted according to specific academic criteria. The names of second batch of students will be announced once their admissions is completed.

The number of students accepted into various colleges is as follows: (46) to the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, (53) to the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, (199) to the College of Business Administration, (88) to the College of Sciences, (371) to the College of Engineering, (192) to the College of Law, (145) to the College of Health Sciences, (69) to the College of Fine Arts and Design, (87) to the College of Communication, (107) to the College of Pharmacy, (149) to the College of Medicine, and (111) to the College of Dentistry.

Study will commence on  19th September 2010 after a week of advising and registration from 13-9-2010 to 16-9-2010, while the deadline for the drop & add period will be on 23-9-2010.

Prof. Mahmoud stated that the admission is still open in some programs and colleges for students wishing to join the University in the Fall Semester 2010-2011. Those interested are advised to apply through the Admission and Registration Department as soon as possible.
