Cisco Networking Academy

Overview:

The Networking Academy program is an e-learning program that delivers Web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, and instructor training and support, as well as hands-on labs. It is a globally recognized program with more than 10,000 participating academies in about 152 countries with more than 458,000 students.

The academy program is a comprehensive four-semester course that teaches students to design, build, and maintain computer networks. Students are also prepared for industry standard certifications, including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA™) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP™). The Networking Academy program combines lectures and online learning with hands-on laboratory exercises in which students apply what they learn in class while working on actual networks. From basics to advanced networking skills, the Networking Academy curriculum prepares students for lifelong opportunities in the real world.

The University of Sharjah seeks to play a major role to teach individuals the knowledge, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills they need to pursue a career in ICT industry in the 21st century workplace.

Cisco Programs:

Cisco programs prepare students for industry-recognized certification exams such as the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and NetPlus+. Students are supported and trained by a Regional Academy in their geographic area. Each Local Academies is responsible for providing an appropriate environment for conducting classes, selecting competent instructors/trainees and ensuring that its instructors get the proper training that enables them to teach the curriculum while maintaining the program quality standards set forth in the QAP.

Training Modules/Materials:

Cisco provides for participants a free of charge on-line course materials.  During training, instructors learn how to set up the lab for training and have all the materials they need to launch a successful Cisco Networking Academy.

Certificate:

Participants will be given certificate from Cisco Academy after completing the course requirements.

After finishing this program, students will receive a certificate indicating that they have successfully completed the networking academy program, which not only certifies that they have passed the theoretical exams, but also confirms that they have mastered advanced networking skills.
