Chancellor’s Message

       Sharjah University is a leading academic institution in the field of higher education. It constantly contributes in supporting and developing both private and public sectors within the country and beyond. The University of Sharjah is a comprehensive university, established due to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme President of the University of Sharjah. That vision has enabled the University to make great strides – within a mere decade – towards implementing and fulfilling its cultural message through its various academic programs and its integrated professional services for all segments of society.

       Among the most important areas, that Sharjah University focuses on is its enduring commitment to offer programs that keep society’s concerns in mind, and to guide and develop the community to meet the demands and face the challenges of modern life. Not to mention achieving the comprehensive social and economic developmental goals of the UAE, by promoting strategic programs that enable both individuals and institutions to achieve their goals and discover new opportunities for further development and progress.

        The mission of the university does not end with the graduation of its students, nor even after their successful employment. Rather the University takes the unique step of following up with its graduates, and allows individuals to further develop their capabilities through the Continuing Education Center. This Center continuously coordinates with the advisory bodies in various colleges for feedback to constantly develop its curricula and sciences in line with the practical requirements of the labor market. In addition, Sharjah University has established strong working relations with a large number of institutions from both the public and private sectors in order to strengthen its interaction and involvement in community affairs, and to cater to society’s current and future needs.

      On the other hand, the University prides itself on its bringing together professors and administrative staff of various nationalities, who all contribute with their various experiences and produce research, studies, ideas and experiments, which benefit all segments of society. This is achieved through the excellent (academic) programs and the diverse training and consultancy services that the CEC offers to all sectors of society, some of which are being offered for the first time in the country.
