The University of Sharjah College of Medicine
The College of Medicine was established in summer 2004 upon instructions from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qassemi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme President of the University of Sharjah. The establishment of the medical college reflects his Highness's vision of the University of Sharjah as a credible institution of higher education offering high quality programs in medical field to meet the growing needs of the UAE community .
The College of Medicine enrolled its first batch of students in September 2004. The college of medicine offers Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). The Bachelor program of Medicine and Surgery is a six year program including , one year of foundation which will prepare the students to enter into the medical curriculum , (following a further one year of intern training). The university has formed a partnership with the faculty of medicine, nursing and health sciences at Monash University from Melbourne in Australia to prepare the university of Sharjah MBBS course.
The College of Medicine is part of the marvelous complex of the medical and health sciences colleges that provides an ideal integrated environment for students and professionals of these fields.
