The College of Engineering at The University of Sharjah was established in 1997 by a decree from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, member of the UAE Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and the Supreme President of the University.
More than 1000 students are currently enrolled in our five undergraduate degree programs in Architectural, Civil, Computer, Electrical & Electronics and Industrial Engineering and Management.
Since its inauguration the College placed strong emphasis on innovative teaching and learning methodologies and developed state of the art curricula emphasizing analysis, design and hands-on experience for all students, with engineering concepts being taught up-front. The College of Engineering has excellent, state-of-the-art lecture halls and laboratories, and is rapidly building its research facilities to meet the national and regional needs as well as to become an internationally-recognized research institution.
As of 01/01/09, the College employs 45 faculty members, including 36 PhD holders and 9 MSc holders. The College also employs 17 Laboratory Staff, 8 Administrative Staff, 7 General Staff and 6 Teaching Assistants. The Dean welcomes members of the community to give their feedback and suggestions. |
