Director's Message
The University of sharjah has established the Central Laboratories as a core arena for practical experiments, training and research of all skills related to the applied and medical sciences. Under the guidance and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, the establishment of the laboratories went in harmony with his Highness’s vision in combining the aesthetic aspect and the genuine content.
The Central Labs have expanded over time to cater the needs of all departments and scientific specializations at the university, in a manner that guarantees suitable spaces and state of the art equipment and tools for student and faculty. The central laboratories mission is to provide a safe environment at its facilities where students and faculty train, apply knowledge and conduct research in an efficient and productive atmosphere. The Central Labs uniqueness and strength is supported by the central management of its facilities where planning and timed acquisition and contracted maintenance of resources (equipment and machines) are monitored continuously. The Central Labs staff works hard to achieve the following objectives: Mange the acquisition of all equipments, tools and consumables that will be hosted in Central Labs from the time of requisition till the final delivery of items to end users. Maintain a database for all equipment, apparatus, tools and consumables. Manage the space distribution between programs to satisfy the needs of the new programs and the expansion of the existing ones. Maintain the central utilities (gas, compressed air, vacuum,..etc) of the Central Labs buildings. Establish and monitor safety and security procedures in Central Laboratory buildings. Maintain and monitor the maintenance of laboratory equipments thorough in house workshop or through outside contractors. The Central Laboratories is looking forward to be a landmark at the University of Sharjah to serve its students and faculty.
