Departments
The College of Graduate Studies and Research activities are the responsibility of three departments: the Research Publishing Department, the Grants and Research Groups Department and the Graduate Studies Department. The duties of these Departments are outlined as follows:
A. The Graduate Studies Department:
- Admitting graduate students in coordination with academic departments, and follow up of their academic progress and all affairs related to students from their admission to graduation.
- Making recommendations to the Deans' Council for the establishment of new programs in graduate studies.
- Approving and amending study plans, in light of the recommendations made by academic departments and faculty councils.
- Supervising financial assistantship available for qualified graduate students.
- Proposing draft regulations related to graduate studies.
B. The Research Department:
- Receiving research grant applications from teaching faculty research members andprocessing of these applications by the Research Council and allocating suitable funds.
- Processing research grants submitted by faculty members for funding from outsidethe university.
- Approving financial expenditures from the funds allocated for research projects and follow up of each project until completion.
- Publication of books and research articles submitted by faculty members afterhaving been assessed and found publishable, or accepted for publication in refereed international journals.
- Publishing refereed Journal articles under the supervision of the Editorial Boards.
- Supervising and supporting research groups in various departments and colleges inorder to enhance faculty inter-displinary research.
- Proposing draft regulations related to research.
